Cable Crochet Cowl in Sparkly Lavender
Cable Crochet Cowl in Sparkly Lavender
This beautiful crocheted cabled cowl will keep you toasty while adding a lot of sparkle to your day. The lavender yarn, with darker purple pops throughout, is twisted with a stellina thread, which adds the delicate shine!
I crocheted it by following the “Easy As Pie Cable Blanket” pattern by Dada’s Place, and it converted to a cowl wonderfully! (Find more of her gorgeous patterns at dadasplace.com).
I included a photo of myself wearing it so you can see how scrumptious and cozy this cowl would be around an actual human neck, rather than my dress dummy. This cowl will certainly keep you warm while snuggled against your neck, and due to the cable, it is thicker than most of my cowls, so it’s likely more of a warming piece, but would still be a great accessory for fall, winter and spring. As you can see by the small sample in the photos, you can drape it in a variety of ways.
I photographed it in natural light and think the color has come through fairly true (outside of the bad lighting in the one where I’m wearing it). But it is very hard to capture the sparkle, hopefully you can see it - or it will be a delightful reveal when you get this cowl home and open it up! Please note there may be some tonal differences in real life.
This cowl is a wholly unique item, handmade by me out of high-quality yarn. There were almost 2 full skeins of yarn used to create this cowl. The yarn is Uru from the knitcrate brand and is called “Loveander”.
The yarn is a fingering weight, sock yarn, and contains 70% wool (superwash merino) & 20% nylon-which adds durability - and that sparkle comes from 10% stellina.
This cowl is about 14” tall with about a 28” circumference.
The cowl will come prewashed, and comes from a smoke free home with dogs.
Care Instructions: best to hand wash, but it could be washed in a cold water, gentle setting in the washer, and should always be laid flat to dry, NEVER dried in the dryer.
